“Лаборатория экспериментальной книги” - творческий проект группы художников, избравших книгу, как способ художественной практики. Данная работа продолжает поиски новых форм репрезентации, связанных с книгой - синтетическим объектом, сочетающим различные виды искусств.

В основе проекта “КНИГА БЫТА” лежит повесть Наталии Гиляровой “ПРО ЕМЕЛЮ”. Первая публикация повести осуществляется на современном аудио-визуальном языке. Литературный текст помещается в некие лабораторные условия, “раскниживается”, превращаясь в пространственный объект.

Это игра с образом книги, разворачивающейся в пространстве, где нет обложек, переплетов и страниц; книги, впускающей зрителя внутрь себя, предлагающей стать ее обитателем, со-участником; книги, которая сохраняется, проявляясь и отпечатываясь в памяти читателя.

"Book Lab" is a project by some artists who have elected the Book as their own art-strategy.

This work is based on the story by Natalia Gilyarova and is its first "publication" in contemporary audio-visual language.

Artists play with image of the book which develops in the space of art-galery, the book having no covers and no pages. This book lets the spectacor get into it and become its an inhabitant and participant.

Installation "Cook the Book" consists of:

a) three video-monitors turned screens up like three cookers with kitchen utensils on;

b) video tapes representing the burning cooker-rings, the blinking eye and the parrot in the cage;

c) Cuvettes full of developer with the photos of food "cooked" inside it, "over-roasted' from the white into the black under the red lamp's light;

d) audio tape with autor's reading accompanied the installation.
